About Me

Dr. Bobby Kalotee is a charismatic and hardworking individual who has grown from humble beginnings as an immigrant from India to a respected civic leader and proud United States citizen who epitomizes the American dream. It has been an honor and rewarding experience for Bobby to serve the People of Nassau County/Long Island/New York State over the past four decades, as Chairman of various political parties, a community activist, and an ambassador on overseas missions of charitable work. Bobby believes it is a blessing to serve others all day, every day. He is relentless in his quest to help people address their problems and concerns, regardless of origin or social status.

Dr. Kalotee was appointed to Nassau County Human Rights Commission in 2016 by a unanimous vote of the Nassau County legislature, and enthusiastically approved by the Nassau County Executive. He is also one of the longest serving Directors on the Board of Directors of Nassau University Medical Center having been originally appointed by the then Presiding Officer, Bruce Blakeman and approved by then governor of New York State, George Pataki. Subsequently, Bobby was appointed to Stony Brook University’s Brookhaven National Labs from 1997 to 2007, as Director/Vice Chair of the Counsel. Dr. Kalotee also serves on the board of New York Institute of Technology where he received an honorary Doctorate in science in 2001. He also was the Chairman of Spartan Health Science University Saint Lucia where he received an Honorary Doctorate in Philosophy 2016.

Dr. Kalotee is the International Chairman of Friends for Good Health, a philanthropic organization that has sent teams of leading healthcare professionals to provide vital medical services in the world’s most affected regions. On one recent such mission, Dr. Kalotee and team served over 7,000 people in numerous cities across El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.

Dr. Kalotee has been very active in civic, social, charitable, and political concerns since arriving in our great nation in 1981. He believes that politics is not a spectator sport, but requires proactive participation and advocacy, and that voting in an informed and educated manner is a privilege and the civic duty of every responsible citizen. He has served as Chairman of the Nassau County Independence Party, Vice-Chairman of New York State Independence Party and National Executive Director of the Independence Party of America; and was a National Chairman of the Reform Party from 2007to 2010.

As Chairman of Friends for Good Health, Dr. Kalotee has continued the organization’s charitable work, recently donating hundreds of computers and tablets to the Government of Grenada for its IT centers and schools. Over the past several years he has made numerous trips to Central American and African countries with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide desperately needed preventative care in numerous impoverished communities. He also personally directed the missions in providing disaster aid to El Salvador, Malawi, Haiti, India, and other countries. Over the years, he and Friends for Good Health have sent thousands of toys to the children of El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Guatemala, Grenada, and Malawi. More recently he has organized drives providing food and clothing worth more than 3.0 million dollars to people in need, both locally and abroad. Since 2006 he has also served as Co-Chairman of Toys for Tots with the US Marine’s.

Dr. Kalotee holds the rank of Major in the New York State Guard, division of Military and Naval affairs and as a General in the US disaster relief command. He was appointed as a special liaison to South Asia by the President of Malawi, the Hon. Joyce Hilda Banda, and currently serves as a special advisor to the Grenada Mission at the UN mission. “It is an honor to serve a friend, Prime Minister of Grenada, as his Sr. Advisor to the UN and work with Ambassador Ms. Keisha McGuire”, he has said. Dr. Kalotee has personally witnessed many local and state-wide elections and has been invited to attend inaugurations of several heads of state all over the world.

Dr. Kalotee was a guest speaker several times at the United Nations General Assembly in New York and in Geneva, on issues of education and health to the world community. His life experience of responsibility and understanding the importance of a better tomorrow was evident in his messages.

At the 72nd, 73rd and 74th UN general assembly session in 2017, 2018 and 2019, Dr. Kalotee had the honor of greeting heads of states, foreign ministers, and other representatives from many countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Germany, the United Kingdom, Poland, Greece, Norway, Hungary, India, Pakistan, China, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Libya, Jordan, Lebanon, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Rwanda, Liberia, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Panama and Columbia.

Dr. Kalotee has been honored hundreds of times by religious, civic, union, non-union, local, national, and international organizations for his charitable work. He received the keys to many cities and was recognized for the second time in the Congressional Record on September 19, 2019, by the Hon. Thomas R. Suozzi addressing Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Nancy Pelosi. On that occasion, he was joined by the Hon. Raja Krishnamoorthi (Illinois) and the Hon. Carolyn Maloney (New York) for his public service.

Since the onset of the pandemic, Dr. Kalotee has played an instrumental role in helping to combat the virus with leaders around the world, working with doctors, nurses, first responders, support staff and political leaders to formulate plans to keep communities safe; locally, nationally and internationally. He spearheaded many of the missions in multiple medical communities and neighborhoods by providing thousands face masks, shields, gloves, and temperature and mask-sensing kiosks which were delivered to hospitals, schools and nursing homes at no cost.

Several of Dr. Kalotee’s friends joined him in raising e-funds for this mission. He is known for his charitable work around the world through Friends for Good Health, of which he is International Chairman. With the outbreak of Covid- 19 he was energized to do more. Forsaking the safety of home, he went out to serve hospitals, nursing homes, senior centers, schools, and neighborhoods in need. When our schools recently re-opened, Bobby was there with PPE and supplies for students and teachers in the communities that needed them the most.

Above all, Bobby responds time and again to an innate need to serve. He believes that protecting others is the greatest reward an individual can achieve, and his organization’s motto is that there is no better gift one can give to humanity than good health.
